Accountability
Twelve Performance Measures for Accountability-Based on requirements initially established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 2000 and revised in 2007, Wake Technical Community College is required to publish performance data pertaining to eight critical success factor measures annually in its electronic catalog and in its printed catalog. (2008 Critical Success Factors ) Exceptional institutional performance funding, authorized by the North Carolina General Assembly, is based on Wake Tech's success in all eight of these factors. In order to meet the exceptional institutional performance benchmark (qualify for additional funding) the college must successfully meet all eight measures and the following criteria:
1. The passing rate on all reported licensure/certification exams for which the college has authority over who sits for the exam must meet or exceed 70% for first-time test takers, AND
2. The percent of college transfer students with a 2.0 GPA after two semesters at a four-year institution must equal or exceed the performance of students who began at the four-year institution (native students).
Accreditation
Wake Technical Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award the associate degree.
As a part of the reaffirmation process for SACS accreditation, institutions are required to demonstrate compliance with that accrediting body's Core Requirements and Comprehensive Standards, and with federal requirements, including those associated with Title IV funding.
